How the Y-cord operates:

Only 1 person can speak at a time - toggle between trainer and trainee
With the trainer side muted the trainee has open transmit and receive
When the trainer UN-mutes the mic, the trainee can hear but only the trainer can speak

I wasn't familiar with training cords for headsets. I found this product and it was a great find for my small call center. With the help of customer service I needed the Jabra one to fit my headsets. I love that I can just walk by and plug into a cord and hear and speak to the client.
